Vote Now for the Racers of the Year

Whose prowess behind the wheel earned your vote in 2008? » More Photos

It’s that time again – RACER magazine and SPEED want your input in recognizing the outstanding performers for the 2008 auto racing season. You may vote your heart, mind or (preferably!) both in the following four categories: Racer of the Year, Drag Racer of the Year, Oval Racer of the Year, and Road Racer of the Year. In addition, you can help select the outstanding Rookie of the Year from the nominees selected as part of the SPEED Performance Awards at the link provided below.

It was a season of dynamic change as well as continuing trends, with a bright new star emerging as Formula 1 World Champion in Lewis Hamilton, even as Jimmie Johnson and Tony Schumacher renewed their domination of NASCAR Sprint Cup and NHRA Top Fuel, respectively, and Scott Dixon stormed through the IndyCar season. They are obvious candidates for your votes, but what about Kyle Busch’s phenomenal win streak across all three top NASCAR divisions? Or Penske Porsche’s Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas, who won their second straight American Le Mans Series crowns against heavy opposition in LMP2? Scott Pruett's pugnacious charge to Grand-Am's Rolex Series Daytona Prototype crown? Or Felipe Massa’s grace under pressure for Ferrari at the F1 finale? Here’s your chance to put your support behind those you think best exemplified the description of “racer” in 2008.

To cast your votes, click on the link provided below to take you to the Official Entry Ballot, and follow the instructions on the ballot. (Sorry, no mail-in votes.) The winners will be revealed in the March issue of RACER magazine, on sale Feb. 10.
