The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws sprint car series heads west to complete busy month of August, beginning on Tuesday, August 12 at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, North Dakota for an event which was postponed by rain earlier this season. The series then heads to Gillette Thunder Speedway in Wyoming before a return to North Dakota to wrap up the Gerdau Ameristeel Northern Tour at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan and Nodak Speedway in Mandan. The mini-series is comprised of the four events in the state of North Dakota this year. The series then makes a return visit to Billings Motorsports Park in Montana, before heading to Canada for a two-day event at Castrol Raceway, followed by two days at Skagit Speedway in Washington.

First Time Visit: The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will visit two tracks for the first time this month, when they visit
Gillette Thunder Speedway and Dactoah Speedway. The race at Dacotah Speedway will be the first sprint car race at the high-banked 3/8-mile since 2005. The event at Gillette will be the fourth visit to the state of Wyoming for the series with three drivers have picked up wins at Sweetwater Speedway in the late 1990’s. The events will be the third and fourth new venues the series will visit this season, with a total of six inaugural races on the 2008 schedule.

Adding to the Record Books: Tony Bruce Jr., added his name to the record books on July 30, when he won his first career World of Outlaws event at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. A total of 101 drivers have won at least one A-Feature event with the series dating back to 1978. Of the 17 drivers currently competing full-time with the World of Outlaws, 15 have won an A-Feature event with the series.
