Danny Lasoski, one of the most colorful and determined competitors in the recent history of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, is aiming for a return to glory in 2010.

Nicknamed “The Dude,” the 2001 Outlaws champion will once again drive full-time for Parsons Motorsports in the Casey’s General Stores-sponsored number-6.

Lasoski is fresh off of his maiden season with owner Lonnie Parsons, a year which saw the team arrive in victory lane five times en route to a sixth-place finish in the championship standings.

“They took a chance on me and it seemed like together we created a spark,” said Lasoski in a statement regarding his owner and primary sponsor.

“They have given us great equipment to work with and have faith in us as a team. As a driver, that is the most you can ask for,” he added.

Now at age 50, the Missouri native is eyeballing a new set of milestones.

He is closing-in on the century mark in A-Feature wins (86) with the Outlaws, with whom he ranks sixth on the all-time list.

JEI chassis founder Barry Jackson returns as crew chief, much to Lasoski’s delight.

“He (Jackson) is very detail-oriented and his car maintenance and work ethic are second to none,” according to Lasoski.

“I am a hands-on driver who has to be involved with the changes we are making. Now that Barry understands more about what I need as a driver, I can spend more time studying the track conditions knowing that I have a guy making those changes that I trust will do the job right,” he concluded.

Most of Lasoski’s success has come at Knoxville Raceway, where “The Dude” tops all drivers with 93 feature wins and has earned 8 track championships.

Lasoski has also driven for noted car owners Dennis Roth, Guy Forbrook and Tony Stewart.

Three of Lasoski’s four Knoxville Nationals victories were collected at the wheel of a Stewart machine.
